Ecosse Signature
John Parsons, an ex-racing driver who had worked in technical sales support at Ford, and Aubrey Woods both wanted to produce a car that would appeal to the knowledgeable buyer who was looking for a true driver’s sports car.
In March 1986, their company AC Ecosse Ltd bought the rights to the AC 3000ME. Over the next two years a small team of experienced people was built up developing the new car. In early 1988 the Ecosse Car Company Ltd was formed in very modest premises in Knebworth, Hertfordshire with great ideas.
The problem was that, just like AC at Thames Ditton and AC Scotland, people were interested in the car and some willing to place an order but the car took too long to develop and interest fell away. There was only one show car and one development car which used parts taken from the show car. Sadly when the car was tested by Performance Car in 1989 it was still not fully developed so the project sadly died.
